You’ve heard Hambone and me mention this slap on The Gritcast. You’ve heard Nick and Vito laugh on Drinking and Mocking as they reminisced about this moment. Now, finally, the footage has surfaced. Draft Expert Nick dropped this beauty of a video from the clouds today after it was mentioned to Hambone that Johnny Manziel may be a top target for the reformed XFL.
For those of you that haven’t heard the story, here it is:

Draft Expert Nick’s House
The boys were gathered at Nick’s to watch the first round of the NFL Draft. The beer was flowing, the wings were hot, and there was talk of the Buffalo Bills trading up into the top 5; all was good. While most of us were talking about the Bills trading up for Sammy Watkins or Khalil Mack, Hambone was confidently talking about how excited he was to see his hero Johnny Manziel get taken in the top 5 of the draft. As a smart person, I knew there was no way that Johnny Football would go anywhere near the top 5, so I offered to slap bet Hambone on it. All of the sudden, Hambone was not so confident in his guy. We agreed to set the line at pick number 10. The top ten picks came and went, and Hambone looked absolutely distraught. The time had come for a slap to occur; I rose and mentally prepared to end my friends face. I didn’t want to do it, but I had to. I looked Hambone in the eyes and raised my hand to his face to line my slap up. I then unleashed a perfect slap, a slap with the power of 1000 slaps, right to his face. It was great form, the wrist snapping at the last second to add power. I’ll admit that the accuracy was a little off, catching his ear and neck, but it did more damage that way. Twelve picks later Manziel was finally drafted by the Cleveland Browns and Hambone’s ear was still ringing.
It’s been almost four years since that fateful day. I’ve retired from the slap bet game, Hambone is still suffering side effects from that slap, and Johnny Manziel is begging for chances with the CFL and XFL.
A second angle of the slap has emerged.
