Before Sunday’s Bills home game against the Buccaneers I thought I was tailgating in the “grass/dirt/gravel lot” outside of New Era Field, but it turns out I was magically The teleported to the Tubbytronic Superdome. That’s right, the Teletubbies were in the house.
Halloween isn’t even until next weekend, but a couple guys rolled into the tailgate wearing full bodysuit Teletubby costumes and it was ELECTRIC. I snapped a quick picture with one of them as they walked by, and later saw them raging with some fellow Bills fans in a different part of the parking lot. The guy in the yellow suit, known as “Laa-Laa ” on the show, was partaking in a classic game of dizzy bat, so I pulled out my phone and took a Snapchat video.
I thought this was a cool video, so I put it in my personal snap story as well as my “Our Story,” whatever that is. Well it turns out, that someone aggregates these videos and puts them into those features stories. Mine got picked up and put into “Tailgate Heroes” where it has now been viewed over 1.2 MILLION times!
The video was absolutely perfect, it fit within the 10 second window and the guy demolishes the can like vintage Barry Bonds. I don’t know how many games of dizzy bat I’ve seen where the person completely whiffs or hits a foul tip, but not this time.
Maybe the Teletubbies are the good luck charm the Bills have been missing all of these years, and if that’s the case I’ll be ordering this outfit on Amazon tonight.
